The CashCrate Scam

For those of you who may not know, I enjoy debunking myths. Whenever I hear something that sounds suspicious, I’m usually the first person researching it. Recently, I helped a friend avoid a fake check scam after he posted a used item for sale online. The potential buyer sent a fake check for more than the price of the item and told my friend that his secretary had made a mistake. The buyer asked my friend to deposit the check and wire the difference back to him. If my friend had fallen for the scam, he would have lost around $1000.

If you’ve made it to this page, you’re probably here to find out if CashCrate is a scam. When something sounds too good to be true, most of the time it is. Well, the purpose of this post is to expose the truth about CashCrate and resolve any questions or doubts that you may have. Let’s start with the big question.

Is CashCrate a Scam?

The simple answer is no. CashCrate is not a scam. No matter what you’ve read elsewhere, I assure you that CashCrate is 100% legit. Over the course of a few months, I’ve made almost $100 through CashCrate. Below is a picture of the first check I received back in December.

Will I make a lot of money?

Probably not. Even though it’s easy to make money through CashCrate, I think most people would prefer earning money through other means. Why? Because filling out surveys and completing trial offers can get pretty boring. The reason you see so many positive reviews of CashCrate is because they have a generous referral program. Some people probably earn a decent amount of money from CashCrate through referrals, but they have to put in a lot of hard work in advertising their referral link. It’s basically like a second job.

Should I try CashCrate?

If you’re just looking to make a little extra cash with a minimal amount of effort, then CashCrate is for you. If you’re trying to build a sustainable source of income, then look elsewhere. 30 tneveca July 23, 2011 at 12:38 am: Don’t listen to any of the positive reviews about Cash Crate. Most of the surveys take 15 to 20 minutes and pay out about 50 cents. This means about 1.50 an hour, which a sweatshop wage. Also, you’ll often spend 20 minutes completing an offer or survey only to discover at the end that you DIDN’T QUALIFY for that particular survey. I think this cheap and manipulative tactic to extort information without paying for it should be prosecuted as fraud. Stay the HELL away from survey sites. You can make more money wandering the city looking for empty cans and loose change.
31 tneveca July 25, 2011 at 10:43 pm: I also tried SurveyMastermind and found it to be a ridiculous waste of time. This site is especially misleading because it leads you to believe that it is reasonably possible to make $1500 a month by doing 100 surveys for 15 companies. This simply is not true. A typical 20 minutes survey pays out about 200-400, “points,” which means 2-4 DOLLARS. You would need to earn thousands and thousands of points to get $100, and it would take you a month of working at it 12 hours a day. Be POLITICALLY RESPONSIBLE and don’t take surveys. Also be sure to tell your friends about what a waste of time they are.

He emails people with an offer that is too good to be true and in the body of the email it asks for all of your personal information so you can get started as a “Mystery Shopper”. The pay offered is unrealistic for this type of position. I have worked as a Mystery Shopper before for a legit Company and I know what the “average” pay is. He signs the email, Michael Hall, CashCrate Inc.

39 David August 12, 2011 at 3:01 am: I am making money with cashcrate, it´s not the quickest or best way to make money but when you get used to it, it´s nice extra to your normal incomings (about 50-60 $ a month using a little bit of your time). I suggest everybody to even try it!

They want you to send the money you are supposed to western union so they can have the cash and the check turns out no good. BAD COMPANY!!!!!!!!!
