If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on Christmas gifts this year, don’t worry. The best gifts aren’t always the most expensive ones, and coming up with an awesome frugal gift is easier than you think. Here’s a simple recipe for what I like to call, “The Best Frugal Christmas Gift Ever.”
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tsp edibility
- 2 tbsp deliciousness
- 1 dash tender lovin’ care (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat mind to think of something that is both edible and delicious.
- In a medium bowl, stir together edibility and deliciousness. Add dash of tender lovin’ care if desired.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Remove and place on wire racks to cool.
- Wrap in festive packaging and give to friends and family.
If you follow the recipe carefully, you should end up with something like this. (Results vary depending on how much tender lovin’ care you put into it.)

That’s right. Giving the best frugal Christmas gift ever is as simple as baking cookies that are edible and delicious. Everybody (girls, guys, grandparents, grandkids, annoying aunts, creepy uncles, etc.) loves cookies. And they’re cheap to make.
Also, if you can’t bake, please don’t try. No matter how much tender lovin’ care you add to the recipe, it’ll be easier on you and your loved ones’ taste buds to just buy something edible and delicious. It’s hard to go wrong with a tub of Garrett’s Popcorn. However, it is definitely still possible to go wrong…

Agreed!
And about Garrett’s–my fav is to buy caramel and regular, then mix them together. It’s salt and sweet at the same time, and OH MY GOSH addictive.
I never tried mixing caramel and regular, but it sounds awesome. I was skeptical when I first saw the famous carmel and cheese mix. Then I tasted it, and I’ve never looked back. I’m tempted to fly to Chicago just to get some popcorn now.
“if you can’t bake, please don’t try”… I wish I had that advice earlier in life!
Just saw this post and had to chime in…I love Garrett Popcorn. The Chicago Mix is by far the best, and yes, is worth the trip to Chicago alone.
Another popcorn shop that I found that holds a flame to garrett’s is the big popper. pretty sure its at http://www.thebigpopper.com
Thank you, I’m now starving >.<'
The next year on christmas eve my mom told me she was pregnant and judging by the symptoms it might be a girl. It was the best thing ever!!! I cant believe that was 4 years ago!! Merry christmas .
Cute! I saw a card once that said “This year I have made a charitable donation in your name” on the inside… “but don’t claim it on your taxes because I may have just made that up” I thought this was great.
