I hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. The funny thing about long weekends is that they end up feeling too short because you do something fun. Sometimes that something fun is just sitting around and doing nothing. That’s definitely not what I ended up doing this holiday weekend.
Thanks to a phone call from a friend on Saturday afternoon, I was in a car on my way to Yosemite National Park a few hours later. A few hours after that, we started a 16 mile round-trip hike to the top of Half Dome in the dark. A few hours later, I was sitting on top of Half Dome watching the sunrise.

The story about the trek up to that point is another post in itself, and I’ll try to put it together sometime this week. I don’t think the whole experience can really be captured in pictures and words though. It’s something you have to experience firsthand to understand.
In other news, the College Money Network’s first giveaway has officially ended. We’ll be announcing the winners later this week. If you entered the contest, be sure to check out these articles while you keep your fingers crossed.

Looking forward to the half dome post. I’m terrified just thinking about the cables.
