I have trouble staying in one place for more than a year. Ever since my first year of college, I’ve lived in at least one different apartment/dorm/townhouse/house per year. Whether it has been moving somewhere halfway across the country or simply moving into a bigger unit in the same complex, I have never stayed in any place (except my parents’ house growing up) for more than a year. I have no idea why, but it seems to happen like clockwork every year.
Last month, the alarm went off in my head, so it was time to move again. After successfully negotiating lower rent, I signed a lease for a new place and made the move over this past weekend. After living at a place with cable internet already setup for the past year, I forgot how much of hassle it is when you have to get it setup yourself. Mainly, it’s the waiting that sucks. I should have my internet setup by next week, so my blogging should return to its regular schedule shortly.
Anyway, enough of that nonsense, here are the stats from the past month.

I went through the same thing for a while. I lived in 7 different places in the four years following graduation. I moved across the country and lived in two places before buying my house, where I’ve lived for over three years now. It feels a little weird to be in the same place for so long, and every now and then I still get a “moving itch,” but it passes
Moving is such a hassle. I might be moving to a different city in about 6 months. I am definitely not looking forward to it. I hope you enjoy your new place.
YOU BROKE 500!!!! I actually visited your site today particularly to see if you did it or not – SO CONGRATS
Feels gooooood, don’ t it?
and i’m with you on the moving – have at least 35 moves down, and haven’t even broke 30 years of age yet! (but sadly it’s right around the corner….*tear*)
I’m glad you have a lower rent with the new place. Great job on the blog, especially having almost 20k unique visitors!
J. Money: Thanks, dude. It does feel pretty awesome. Congrats to you too, looks like you’re about to break 600!
Green Panda: Thanks. Your blog is looking great too. Now to figure out how to grow the blog even more…
ahaha! on average, i either changed jobs or changed dormitories/boardinghouses every 6 months or so after graduation. 2007, i stayed in one place but changed jobs thrice; vice versa for 2006. now, though, im facing some semblance of normality: i’ll be staying with my parents until i finish my MA thesis. yup, i’m a broke grad student too!
