In the midst of the struggling economy, I actually have some good news to report on the job front. I recently received an offer for a full time position at my company. For newer readers, I started working for the company earlier this year on a one year contract. With the contract ending in a couple of months, they interviewed me for a full time position, and I got it!
I really do consider myself lucky for working at a company that happens to be hiring right now, especially with the current state of the economy. It’s not something I could have planned out. It really feels like a lot of luck and timing. Sure, there was probably some skill involved in landing the job in the first place, but it still amazes me at how much luck and timing come into play in the end.
As an added bonus, I’ll be getting a nice raise when I start full time next year, because I have a master’s degree now. That means I’ll have to work on setting some new financial goals as the end of the year approaches.

Congratulations! I can’t wait to see what your goals are for next year with the raise.
Congrats! Even though you’re in the same company - getting a job offer is always exciting.
Plus a raise.
Thanks, Laura and L!
Congrats on the new job. Are you doing the same thing, or is there much more responsibility now?

I’ve been out of work for a while now- so I appreciate how nice it must be to have a full time work offer in your hand. Congrats!
I am so proud of you and for you.
You’re headed on the right path.
Congrats Broke Grad on hopefully not being broke for too much longer!!!!
Craig: I’ll have the same responsibilities but with slightly more pressure to hit deadlines or finish projects early if possible.
SoCal Savvy: Thanks. One of the other companies I considered working for instead is about to do a round of layoffs, so I definitely consider myself lucky.
Carol: Thank you for your kind words.
Doctor S: Thanks!
Good work! That’s using your noggin’.
Congratulations!!
Way to go, BSG! Congrats!
