Karen and Donna: I definitely owe you an even bigger thanks now. After I wrote this post, my article was promoted to an Editor’s Pick on Smart Spending, and that one comment grew into 260 comments.

After sifting through the comments, I can only imagine what the ones you deleted say, and now that I’ve had a small taste of what it’s like to be in your shoes, I definitely have a lot of respect for the two of you for putting up with that everyday.

I *do* know Karen, and I am pretty sure she could find her own posterior with just one hand. Even in a dark room.

You are welcome. Of course, that comment was kind compared with some others left by readers — about you and about me. And you didn’t even see the ones I deleted! You have to have a thick skin in this business sometimes.
I would be highly amused if someone started a meme about the worst things readers have said. My personal best is from a guy who said he knows me (he doesn’t) and that I can’t find my rear end (my word, not his) with both hands. I almost replied to say, “Oh, yes, I can.”
